Computer-delivered IELTS has the same questions, timing and scoring as the paper test. What changes is the experience: you type your essays, highlight text on screen and see a countdown timer.
Key differences
- Listening: you get only 2 minutes at the end to check answers (not 10 minutes to transfer).
- Reading: passage and questions sit side by side; you can highlight and make notes.
- Writing: a live word counter; typing speed matters.
- Speaking: still face-to-face with an examiner.
How to prepare
- Practise reading on screen in split view : our test player uses the same layout.
- Build typing speed to at least 30 words per minute.
- Take full mock tests under timed conditions every week in your final month.
